Dronitaly 2024

Dronitaly, organized by Bologna Fiere Water & Energy (BFWE), is the main event in Italy for civil drones for professional use. Since 2014, Dronitaly represents an unmissable opportunity for industry professionals, manufacturers, technology developers, and potential users to discover industry innovations and the latest regulatory updates. The exhibition aims to be a catalyst for innovation within the sector, with a focus on the role of civilian drones in professional applications and their integration into airspace for the transportation of goods and people.

Dronitaly 2024

Dronitaly is the main event in Italy for civil drones for professional use and the integration of remotely piloted vehicles in airspace for the transport of goods and people. This year Dronitaly expands, dedicating an area to "Innovative Air Mobility & Delivery" on the transportation of people and goods; this area supports the one dedicated to "Aerial Operations", covering all activities performed with the use of drones, such as inspections, surveys, surveillance, research, rescue, and environmental monitoring.

Dronitaly will be the opportunity to address the challenges that professionals face, delving into the normative and regulatory aspects, presenting financing opportunities offered by European calls, and examining business models for the creation of vertiports, in order to guide the integration of drones into airspace, also considering social acceptance and their integration into urban contexts, contributing to the redevelopment of brownfield sites.

For the 2024 edition of Dronitaly, Giancarlo Zema, president of Giancarlo Zema Design Group and one of the most innovative Italian designers in the field of eco-sustainable architecture for intelligent infrastructures of the future, will be the Guest Designer. Architect Zema will give shape and color to the BFWE’s ConventionHUB, a special area dedicated to conferences, meetings, and idea exchanges among international professionals.

Dronitaly will take place concurrently with Fueling Tomorrow, the event dedicated to the transformation of fuels and the use of new energy carriers in the transportation and hard-to-abate industries sectors, with a focus on ecological transition.

Who is it for ?

Dronitaly is the opportunity for industry professionals, manufacturers, technology developers and potential users to discover innovations and regulatory updates about civil drones for professional use. The event will provide an overview of the current state and prospects of the professional drone market in Italy and worldwide: according to data from the Drones and Advanced Air Mobility Observatory of the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano, 2023 marked a turning point for this market, reaching a value of 145 million euros, with a 23% growth compared to the previous year

Welcome to Dronitaly 2024 in Bologna

Dronitaly emerges as a benchmark for industry players, highlighting the breadth of applications and expertise in the field, both focusing on the use of drones for rapid, cost-effective and safe complex operations (such as inspections and surveys, security and surveillance, research and rescue, environmental monitoring: “Aerial Operations”), and presenting innovative uses of drones, ranging from drone delivery for efficient last-mile logistics to transport of people (such as air taxis and experiential tourism: “Innovative Air Mobility”).

Dronitaly is therefore the reference event for professionals working in the infrastructure, construction, logistics, utilities, public administration, and aeronautical sectors, focusing on innovation, the diversity and richness of applications and the multifaceted nature of drone use.

Program

In recent years the professional market of drones has been going through a phase of development and major transformation, with experiments concerning both Aerial Operations in the various application activities and the most innovative Advanced Air Mobility (both goods and people transport).

Dronitaly will be an opportunity to address the challenges that professionals face, delving into the normative and regulatory aspects, presenting financing opportunities offered by European calls, and examining business models for the creation of vertiports, in order to guide the integration of drones into airspace, also considering social acceptance and their integration into urban contexts, contributing to the redevelopment of brownfield sites.

Major international companies are investing in this revolution, which is already underway: a $23 billion global market by 2028, which will inevitably lead us to redraw possible new scenarios in the coming years, involving designers, urban planners, economists, entrepreneurs, and thinkers from all over the world.
